After the whole Saban, Miami, Bama dance a few years ago, I don't think anyone takes anything a coach says in advance seriously until a job is filled or a big new extension is signed.

According to body language experts, when someone closes their eyes, they are lying. (he's shaking his head "NO" with his eyes closed.)
Also, what looks like a smirk is actually a half-smile while he closes his eyes knowing LSU is a nice option.
