The new talk is of giving Sark a staff position just like he has at Bama to help with QBs.

If he can keep his act together ..

... Yes,

I would give him a shot at QB coach or assistant to the OC In some way.

It's a possibility, but I don't see it happening. It's just TD speculation that has grown legs.

And I wasn't talking about as OC. I was wondering if he really in play to come to be on staff or as part of the shadow staff.

I know. My answer stands.

I've seen the articles, too.

The word after the SECCG and all the rumors that he showed up drunk before or after the game was that he wouldn't be back at Bama, no matter what. I think Finebaum reported this, as well.

He's not going to get a lot of opportunities with all the past facts and new rumors swirling around. I could see Kiffin giving him a shot at FAU, but I don't think many others will.

It would be a risk to make him and on-field coach again, but probably a worthwhile one. His contract would need to be iron-clad, so LSU could cut him loose if he slips up. We would also need someone working on the admin side ready to side in and at least take over his recruiting responsibilities if he couldn't make it a season.

I think it would be worth the risk for LSU. I think people have forgotten in all the drama that he is a very good offensive coach. Would it be worth the risk for him? That's the real question here.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think that LSU would give him a shot until he shows that he can stay sober.

If the rumors are true, he needs to get out of coaching completely and sober up.

From the Bama side I don't know what to believe any more. Those were the rumors surrounding him. Now he is being listed as the favorite in house candidate. We will never truly know if that rumor was true or not unless Saban decides not to offer him the OC or any position coach opportunity and that would still be speculation. It was reported by Aaron Suttles on radio yesterday that two weeks ago he had spoke to someone very close to Lane and the expectation was Lane was not coming back no matter what. It WAS either HC job or LSU OC and that Satk was the new OC but then the rumor came out, but now he is suddenly supposed to be the front runner.

None of us has the right to judge Sark but LSU has enough distractions; we need to focus on our own house at this point and limit any potential distractions that we can control
