More talent, easier recruiting, more control, less racist? A more unified fanbase?

Yes to all, but Texas has money. Depends how much rebuilding he wants to do, and how much he wants to answer to those boosters. Texas boosters = cancer

I think if anything would push LSU ahead of Texas, it would be all the politics that surround the UT coaching position.

He is referring to the fact that Charlie strong is black and could likely be let go this year after a very short tenure which would certainly raise questions

I think if Texas wants him, they will get him. I think our better shot might actually be Jimbo right now because I think he really wants to come here.

Why would a white coach care?

Because every white person is cool with people being racist?

Agree.

Once Strong is gone, which will probably be soon, Herman immediately becomes a pipe dream.

Would he be hiring an all white staff? That would be even more racist.

The question then becomes, will Texas then go after Aranda as DC. I'm not sure about the details of his contract, but I know him and Herman are good friends.

I don't know about all that, but Herman is an offensive coach. Two of the 4 mentioned are not losing due to lack of offense. Hopefully Herman sees that with even a modest improvement in Offense at LSU, it's a different animal.

Defense isn't bad because of talent.

I am not sure Aranda would follow Herman to another school. Yes, they are friends, but Aranda is looking for that HC job. He may stay on as DC here at LSU, but he would have 1 foot out the door for a step up

That's not a question being asked actually, not an issue.
Likely no. After 1 year? Aranda just signed a 3 year deal. Unless LSU hires a new coach, and that coach doesn't want to retain Aranda, then he'll be at LSU next year.

I'm just saying because people keep saying that Aranda being here is a factor for Herman. I don't think that's true, but if it is, then the reverse could be possible. That is if Texas wants him. I doubt it would happen, but just something to throw out there.

Agreed. I think it's simply a nice convenience that may play a small role, but certainly not a deciding factor.
