he was made Associate Head Coach after Les' firing/ O's being made interim.

He was already Associate Head Coach. Doesn't mean he will be elevated. His next promotion comes at another school or perhaps the NFL.
Then again, for now, he just might want to be a part of something bigger than himself or any other individual. Most of the pieces are there. Just need a little more help in restocking the cupboard.
