So, in doing my due diligence as an LSU fan, I recently researched into Tom Herman's history and I noticed something pretty interesting.

Tom Herman was the offensive coordinator for Iowa State in 2011.. The team that knocked off undefeated #2 Oklahoma State, essentially preventing them from playing for the BCS NCG. Which is, at least in some small part, responsible for the downfall of CLM.

So, if Tom Herman is (at least in some small part) responsible for our downfall, could he be the one to bring us back to the top?

Not a serious post, obviously, just something interesting I noticed.

Was this how Les Miles fans were in the beginning? It's like I'm witnessing the formation of a cult.

Wow, never realized that. Pretty interesting.

I also thinks this is a good example of how Tom Herman's floor isn't nearly as low as people think it is. Sure Jimbo is probably the safer pick, but I don't think Tom Herman is much farther behind. Plus his ceiling is way higher. It is understood that as a head coach he still has almost full control over the offense. As OC his offenses have been really good everywhere he has been, beating teams like OSU at ISU. Especially at Ohio State where they were dominant (Outside of the Virginia Tech game in 2014, which I still can't figure out). As a head coach his offenses have dominated Florida State and Oklahoma with lesser talent.

Come on man, I clearly stated that I wasn't being serious in the last sentence of my post. It's just an interesting train of thought. That being said, would you be upset if we hired Herman?

No, I wouldn't be upset at all. He's not my first choice, and I'd have my doubts, but I'd be excited to see how he'd do.

Jimbo Fisher. Now go on and start bashing him like all of you Herman cultists do. Every coach but Tom Herman is garbage apparently.

Stop being a crybaby. For the most part LSU fans were all on Fisher's nuts last year. I was until I saw and read up on Herman last season.

Idk what you're talking about.

I'd love Jimbo to LSU. I think Herman would leave LSU for the NFL is successful. Jimbo is a college coach for life.

For good reason. Stop being a narrow-minded sheep.

In his first year as Rice's OC/QB coach they went 3-9, but his QB threw for 3377 yards and 29 TDs 16 ints with 538 rush yards and 8 TDs (up from 1707 yards 21 TDs 5 ints, 438 yards 4 TDs the previous year).

In his second year as Rice's OC/QB coach, they went 10-3 and his QB was 66.5% 4119 yards (8.4 ypa) 44 TDs 7 ints, 693 rush yards (4.5 ypc) 12 TDs, 2 rec 22 yards 1 TD.

The year after he left they were 2-10.

His QB at Iowa St ended up 2nd all time in passing yards and total offense, and the RB ended up 4th all time in rushing yards.

His offenses have obliterated school records wherever he has gone, and that includes Ohio St.

Then he actually cares about defense.
7 of his top 10 commits this year are defensive recruits, and after facing Oklahoma, his Group of 5 team loaded with 2 and 3 stars (and one 5 star), is 4th in total defense, and fourth in scoring defense.

If you give him a bit of talent, he'll coach the hell out of it.

Seems like you are the narrow-minded sheep. If nobody is blowing Jimbo, you throw a fit. I've seen your shtick in several threads now.

I've not once said I would be opposed to Jimbo, and I've brought up several other guys as well if we miss out on Herman.

Fair enough. Didn't necessarily mean to direct my comment towards you. I just want to win, just like you and the rest of Tiger nation.
