I'll state my opinion about Herman and UT that I've had way before the frenzy

**Just my opinion**

Since WAY before the frenzy yesterday, I have said Herman to UT doesnt make much sense to me for these reasons:

1) UT has an interim AD. Whoever coaches there has no idea who they'll be working for in the future.
- While LSU's Prez/AD issues are subtantial, I don't think Alleva is as bad as Perrin and Fenves.

2) UT's program is HORRENDOUS. It's more than Charlie Strong. It's a dumpster fire. Their defense is atrocious, letting TCU run at will and put 480ish yards on them.
-LSU's woes are less severe. They need a better offensive scheme, but the program comes pre-equipped with a defense. Also, LSU has a better talent pool to fix their offense than UT has to fix their defense. LSU lost by a total of 23 points this season, as opposed to UT lost by almost that much to TCU tonight. LSU could be a CFP contender with an offensive adjustment, while UT is going to require MINIMUM 3 years to break the top 10.

3) UT has legendarily deep pockets....belonging to people like Red McComb, aka nightmare boosters who have too much say in everything. They'll expect him to take a 5-7 team to the CFP in 2-3 years, which I don't know if anyone could do. He'll have to completely overhaul that team with pressure from all around.
-LSU has meddling boosters as well, but I think they could be more hands-off than UT.

4) Texas is where Herman has his foothold in recruiting.
- While I see the point, I just want to say LSU recruits heavy in Texas and Herman wouldn't be losing out. He, however, would have unbridled access to Louisiana's top prospects, which would be less likely if he were at UT until they become relevant again.

5) His OC can't go back to UT due to some trouble with the trainer girl. He'd also miss out on the opportunity to link back up with his friend Dave Aranda. While I'm sure one can argue Aranda can be flipped, Im not so sure, and even if he could, it becomes a complicated scenario.
-Applewhite is more than welcomed at LSU and Aranda is already iconic here as well. He would miss out on having two confidants surround him instantly at LSU. At LSU, he instantly has a proven OC and DC at his fingertips (again with a talent pool to back it up)

*This is less substantial*

I think money is only gonna matter to a certain point. I think LSU is more about relationships and close ties. We have fans that are the best at being the worst. We get top talent at our door year in and year out with the most players in the pro's. I'm an alumnus and its hard for me to describe how much I love that damn school until you've been there and felt how much people love it. I think thats an intangible thing that you cant really account for, but can make a difference.

Man, these coaches aren't that loyal. If Herman wants to go to UT Major Applewhite's situation won't have any bearing on that.

I caught a lot of heat from everyone that was saying UT from the beginning. I've never been convinced it was UT. Maybe I'll be proved wrong, but its my gut feeling.
