Then check out this article. It's short but condenses a lot of stuff.

The culture Urban Meyer talked about began to leave when Chip Kelly left. And then other teams began to catch up. And Helfrich made two bad D-coordinator hires in a row.

His problem isn't offense, it's all the little things and other stuff.

A lot of people don't know how Meyer based his offense at Ohio State off of Oregon's offense. That's proof that it can work in the SEC. It already beat Alabama in the playoffs. Once we get the qb and of well be on the right track.

Meyers power spread at Ohio state was based off his offense at UF. Oregon is more spread option zone plays but yes the spread option is the father of the power spread and power read.

All that could be, but at Oregon, you've got this issue, worse that probably any other school, and it impacts results on the field.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, and yeah, I know every team has guys that do it, but it's pervasive at Oregon. Taggart better have a plan for how to deal with it.

They ran zone read stuff, but Chip loved the power play too. Helfrich has actually evolved their passing game quite a bit and built upon their fundamentally sound rushing attack, since arriving.

He's from the Koetter (4 verts) background, so think of vertical/NFL passing scheme stacked on top of Chip's running game and pace.
