I'm not sure. With all the rumors of him going to other schools, you'd think it would've been mentioned, but I haven't seen it.
I don't think we would get in a bidding war for a coach that Maryland wants. You never know the culture and attitude of a school like Maryland where they weren't paying their guy near the going rates but suddenly, the UA guy is going to jump in and throws tons of money at a football hire. If he was going to do that, why wouldn't he have done already and gotten John Harbough? ,
We are at $4.2 with Mullen. We have the buyout to take care of a new hire's buyout. I don't see going above that and I would expect us to find someone that would take less than $4.2, as in the way of an up and coming mid-major or a coordinator.

He might have been before he went 4-8 and his team got in trouble with the NCAA.

I think he has pooped in his nest re: MSU. Four years ago he would have been a shoe in. Now - too much baggage.

He picked a bad time (for him) to have a down year with all of the projected openings

Most coaches leave for better jobs after having a bad season than they do after a good one. Not many guys actually ride off into the sunset straight off of a big time season with a smaller program

I'd start with throwing Mullen money + a little at Richt and Schiano in that order and see what happens.

There are three assistant coaches on LSU's staff with head coaching experience:

Cam Cameron
Kevin Steele
Bradley Dale Peveto

I recommend them in that order.

If anyone has started a fund raiser to get any of these three, I would be happy to contribute.........generously.

Exactly. Fedora left plenty of talent. Ellis was just that bad.

Ok, maybe I am wrong about Fedora.

Do you think he'd do well in the SEC West?

Poor State will lose the best coach they ever had and will continue to be just an average to below average team

I concur, give you a million $ if you take all three..
