If LSU is going to be able to hire Kiffin, you better do it today

last weekend before the dead period.

If you don't get him today, you miss the opportunity for him to recruit the next 4 days. You also allow time for Saban to consider if he wants to offer Kiffin a 1 year deal worth about $2M to stay and use his current players as the platform for an opportunity to HC next year.

Don't sign him today and the odds you get him go down considerably (not to zero, but they go down)

But Kiffin was done at Bama and Saban had moved on and Sark was the guy and then Tee Martin was the guy and now Kiffin will be the guy...

Do we really want him?

I'm not sure. I don't care one way or another. He seems average to me and has little feel for the game itself.

There are better coordinators out there. You can have him.

If we give him, I'll make the best of it, but I'm not sure why Saban wants him so bad. He could only score 10 points against Aranda's defense with all that talent. Doesn't seem elite to me at all.

Riveting response. Well thought out. Deep. Impactful. You are clearly a learned man possessing a wealth of majority and ability to have rational conversations with those who share a different opinion than your own.

Pipe down dude.

O said he wasn't gonna make any staff changes until after the bowl game. If he stays true to that he's a bigger idiot than I previously thought

But Kiffin was done at Bama

he wants a HC job and Saban wants him to have one. There is a reason he is the only member of the coaching staff who isn't under contract beyond Feb 2017. That doesn't mean that Kiffin (and Saban) couldn't decide that given the change in circumstances and available opportunities that it is in both party's best interest to stay for another year. Not saying it is a given, but I'm just giving food for thought.

Saban had moved on and Sark was the guy

Sark was absolutely brought on for a reason. That reason was to replace Kiffin if he left. Sark has made a couple of mistakes lately and I doubt it would be hard for you to find info that he isn't likely at Bama in 2017 regardless of where Kiffin is at this point.

quote:

and then Tee Martin was the guy

Tee Martin is absolutely a guy that will get consideration if/when Kiffin leaves.

BTW - I still expect Kiffin to be gone in 2017 (though I'm obviously not Saban and am not privy to his line of thinking). My point is just that the longer you (LSU) delay hiring Kiffin, the more time you give Saban to determine if it benefits him to keep Kiffin for another season while NOT strengthening another team in conference. And, for his part, Kiffin may decide that coaching an offense of the ALL SEC QB, 4 of 5 o-linemen returning, top 2 WRs returning, and top 3 RBs returning is not such a bad option.

Well, he's not interested in coming here. All your peeps have said so. This would be a demotion. Just relax, you have nothing to worry about.
