If Houston loses to SMU tonight, will you still want Herman?

Seriously though, the love fest over this guy is perplexing. I get it, he's a good coach, but Texas and LSU fans are acting like it is Herman or bust, and it's hard to figure out why?
I am seeing posts about making him the highest paid coach in college football, when the man hasn't even been a head coach for 2 full seasons.
Can someone explain what makes this guy more qualified to coach UT or LSU than someone like Chip Kelly?

Cause Chip Kelly is garbage. Dude wouldn't make it 6 games in the SEC, he doesn't know what defense is and his offense causes his defense to play 75% of the game causing them to tire out.
As far as Herman. Of course people will still want him, he is the flavor of the month. God forbid someone like Jimbo lose a game or 2 because then he would be a bad hire

That is a ridiculous assumption. Chip took an NFL team to back to back 10-6 records, I'm sure he could last half of a season in the SEC.

He couldn't hang with a Les Miles coached LSU team.
Look Kelly could come back to college in another conference and likely dominate again buto not in the SEC. it's a different type of football than what he coaches

What do you like about Herman's style of play that you don't like about Chip's? Remember, Herman has never coached in the SEC yet you seem confident in his abilities...

These "if" scenerios are getting old. If its not the "if Herman loses" bullshite its the "if x,y,z happens would you be happy keeping coach O" bullshite. Lets just let the season play out and enjoy some football.

Where did I say I was confident in Herman? I'm not confident in Herman, I have more confidence in Fisher, he has proven he can develop a QB in a more pro style system and has had one of the longest win streaks in the country.

You are kind of making my argument. Kelly couldn't beat a Les Miles led team, he wouldn't hang with a Saban coached Bama. So again second fiddle to Bama.

It's better than wanting a DL coach who has never took a Peewee team 11-1 to be HC so what the frick do you care?

I said nothing about the DL coach. I was comparing Chip Kelly, a guy who is much more qualified than Tom Herman to be the HC at LSU.

As much as I've made fun of alleva in the past he put us in the best position possible for a change this year. Maybe he will pull this off and make a solid hire.

at your irrational Miles hate. Only one team in the nation that year could hang with them, and Miles recruited and produced that dominant LSU team. Also,
