LSU Les Miles salary: 4.3 mil
Jimbo Fisher salary: a little over 5 mil
Tom Herman starting price: 6 mil
Fedora salary: 2 mil
Fleck salary: 800k
Aranda salary: 1.3 mil

If you think about LSU's president and admins, do you really think they're interested in spending over 5 mil a year for a first year coach?

I think Fisher is at the upper limit the university is willing to dish out and this is consistent with "insider" reports. Candidates such as Fedora, Fleck, Aranda would sign on with extreme value and may keep LSU out of money hell.

I've said all along Herman was my #1, but the starting bid may keep that from happening.

Thinking Herman's starting price is $6M is a smokescreen.

Jimbo is an SEC guy at heart. He's coming to LSU to compete against Saban.

LSU will not hesitate to spend $6-7M this year, if it's Jimbo or Herman. Got to keep up with the Jones, and the admin knows that.

This post again begs the question: Why on earth do people think that LSU will buyout Miles to go cheap? It would defy all logic.

Money is not going to be an issue. LSU is going to do everything feasible to get their guy. Their guy is Jimbo.

He's already making 2.8 and Houston is offering a raise and extension. He's going to be making $5+ million next year.

And the ONLY reason Les was only making $4.3 last year is because he had zero leverage to negotiate higher. Paying him more would've been idiotic.

There's an article where someone is claiming sources close to Herman's agent Trace Armstrong (which is also Miles' agent) that the minimum would be 5 years 30 mil.

Why not hire Fleck for OC? He'd be a bargain at a mil, and he would be making 25% more.
