Doesn't bother me if it doesn't bother the players.

If I ever meet him personally, I'd prefer a handshake. Michelle, on the other hand, could kiss me wherever she likes.

Ward doesn't like it. I imagine none of the players do. They probably make fun of him in their spare time.

This is almost akin to Curley Hallman not allowing players to wear earrings.

Herman hasn't ever faced the situation of turning his back on players that committed to play for him. If he had, he would know it's not wise to get so emotionally close to the players. I bet after he leaves Houston and deals with the fall out of all those players feeling betrayed, he's going to stop that amateur hour gimmick shite.

Reporters asked him and he said he was thrown off by it and didn't like it at first.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure he added at first to soften what he said about it. And knowing how kids his age think, he and everyone else fricking hate it.

The question is, how do the players and recruits feel about it? You can't tell me it won't be considered weird and a bit of put off by some of them. If it doesn't negatively impact recruits wanting to play for him or his relationship with the players though then what the hell does it matter to me?

How do you know the players are okay with it? Just because they put up with it doesn't mean they like it. They could be uncomfortable as frick, but don't want to be the one to say something or avoid it for fear of being looked a as different or pissing off Herman. Do you know how much power a head coach has?

It's like a male boss kissing all the female employees every morning. He would be gone in a heartbeat. He can't just say "well they seemed fine with it," because the assumption is they don't feel free to express how they really feel due to the position of power situation.

I don't. That was the whole point of my comment.

I know. Sorry, I wasn't replying to you specifically, just a general reply to the thread. I probably should have picked someone with the opposite viewpoint to reply to instead of letting it default to the last post.

I'll admit it's not my thing. Definitely weird. But if it works for him, and it obviously hasn't hurt anything yet. I'm good

Are you going to gather at the team bus to watch this?

It's ok if you get hard. We won't judge. We promise.
