How much do the national championships affect this coaching search?

Is championships what makes Notre Dame Notre Dame? Michigan, OSU etc? Even though it's been a long time since some "helmet" schools won them, isn't that what makes a school into a destination?
On the other hand, the fans might be considered spoiled and the expectations unreasonable. I could see where a coach might pass on LSU for a less stressful situation.
Having won two recent titles and played for another, does that help or hurt in securing a big name coach?

A good coach won't pass on us because it's "too stressful". He would want to compete at the highest level and that will come with expectations to do so.
