Peter King thinks so:

quote:

Sports Illustrated's Peter King told Fox Sports 1 that Houston Cougars coach Tom Herman was contacted by two NFL teams last year. There's two college coaches the NFL wants. (Stanford's) David Shaw and Tom Herman," King said.

Good, we want a guy that the NFL wants. That means he's a good coach.

Did you seriously just link a google search? No way I'm clicking that BS.

We've been kicking A&M's arse for years without a competent HC, just imagine what it will be like soon. You boys are scared of BOTH of your daddies getting Herman.

I feel the same way. The media treats him like he is God's gift to the profession

Herman would be a great fit for the Panthers. He could work his magic and actually make Cam a decent NFL QB

You're very dumb if you don't think Cam is already a very good QB

I'll give you an example of why I'm enamored with him.

Alabama is tops in the SEC. Herman's offense destroyed Alabama in the national championship game. Saban asks Herman to visit Tuscaloosa to find out how he did what he did, with a 3rd string QB on top of it.

His players at Houston love him, and he's already beaten a couple of heavyweights there. His teams also seem to play good disciplined football.

That is why I want him here. I also love his offense and think it could be pretty great here.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about David Shaw and not Tom Herman. If he was, then I agree with him. Someone would have to put on one hell of a sales job to think he belongs in the SEC.

Peter King says a lot of shite.

Furthermore, Herman's offense would get a QB killed in the NFL. Lots of folks were saying this about Meyer at one point too but the offense would never have translated.

Isn't his personality somewhat Daboish? At least with some of the things he does, like kissing the players before every game and the silly dance routines? Does that really translate to a NFL coach?

You're right. Silly dancing by a potential NFL coach? Automatic deal killer.
