I agree with this and in my opinion it makes JA look even worse. Why not look at other candidates? Why not have an actual coaching search? This was a done deal from the beginning. All "O" had to do was not screw it up too badly.

Wow, I just thought Alleva was scared to compete with UT, but you guys are scared of being good because another school may take our coach, really? Grow a pair.

Herman is considered a genius because he literally is a genius . He's a Mensa member.

Meyer gave him full credit for their offensive success in 2014. Coaching circles say he is a genius. You Pro O cum lickers are something else

I have seen many an awesome salesperson get promoted to management and fail. Just because you are good at one job does not always translate to the next level...his performance this year was not overly impressive. Let's see how he does at big boy football as a HC.

I assume you mean Orgeron? We've seen. And it isn't great.

Didn't this dude manage to lose 2 or 3 games this season as a double-digit favorite?

Doesn't sound like an Einstein to me.

Herman doesn't have any character so he is not needed. You don't break a handshake deal and expect to have a guy with character.

You millenials don't quite get that.

Character doesn't win ballgames. See psycho Urban, little Nicky, autistic Jim, etc, etc.

White Charlie Strong. It's cool. I'm patiently waiting for Fleck or Wilson.

Y'all are pussies. Worry about that when it comes.

Its a lot easier to keep a coach on your staff than it is to pull one from another elite school.

I am not an Alleva supporter but I would have hated him to come to lsu and see him bolt for Texas.

Maybe maybe not but if you put a large buyout like Petrino's then he would stay until the end of the contract or more.

That was my concern if we hired Herman. He would have left us for another school.

Do they really think someone would leave LSU for another college after one year? How insecure is that?

Bottom line is Herman>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>O any way you slice it. If he came here for just the regular season and bailed before the SEC championship game, that is better than hiring O.

I don't think that would have happened.

Herman was never a slam dunk hire. He was an up and comer who looks like he could be GREAT if given the resources that LSU has. At the end of the day, he could underwhelm at Texas.

Having said that, on paper, he's a great hire.

O would've been available in two years. Or three. Or four. Or five. Or six. Or seven.

JA had to lock in Coach O before they got into a bidding war with Middle Tennessee State for his services, playa. Mission accomplished

...Urban Meyer doesn't lose to SMU and Navy in a season when they were supposed to get to the playoffs.
