Why are some of you down voting all the Jimbo posts? Why do you feel you have to criticize Jimbo in order to make Herman look better? They'd both be great hires. Those of you that wouldn't welcome Jimbo here are spoiled idiots. Lol

Spoiled idiots?

Sorry for wanting somebody who trashed Bama's defense so fricking bad, Saban flew the guy in to consult his defensive staff.

Or we get a pro-style guy and play right into Bama's strengths.

Jimbo's pro style (and how he actually plays to his players'' strengfs) is night and day to that jv shite we've been getting used to. Im def on the Herman train but Jimbo would be the next best hire (arguably the best given his resume).

Oh I'm not comparing anything to whatever that abortion is we've been running. I just think it's a no-brained based on the type of players we have here, and the type of offenses that give the current king of the SEC fits.

LSU, with a pro style offense, has been the most competitive with Bama over the last decade of any team in the country. Yeah the last 4 years we got the L, but 2 of those could have just as easily been W's... Flip-a-coin games late in the 4th.

I'm not arguing against a spread attack, I'm just saying it's silly to say a pro style can't beat Bama when one of if not THE only teams that has consistently given Bama its stiffest test of the season is a pro style team.

Les was fine until he became a slightly above .500 coach. If he kept the machine running and beating Ole Miss/Arkansas/Auburn/TAMU every year he'd have stayed here as long as he wanted.

Rantards now think pro style means run toss dives up the middle three times then punt rugby style for 23 yards.

Jimbo also isn't playing against Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida either. Don't get me wrong I like Jimbo. He could also easily have lost that national championship to Auburn - when they were down like 20 points, and he also had a Heisman QB, and he could be 1-2 this year also. I just think Herman would be better

There is no right answer here... Jimbo or Herman would both be widely looked at As solid hires.

Then it's up to them to get it done on the field.

When they didn't call Don Yanowsky back in to coach TEs, a lot of people lost it.

FWIW, Alleva was quoted as saying he will be talking to a lot of people but he will be doing "most of the work" on his own. Yea, right.

Florida and Bama ok, but Ole Miss. Since Miles got to LSU, they have averaged 6 wins a year.

For the better part of Miles' tenure, Ole Miss, Ms State, and plenty of the East teams have been garbage.

The could ofs don't matter

I agree. Another thing to think about is Jimbo is rooted in Florida State and has proven success. If we go all out for Herman and he's a miss (which I doubt) but if that's the case and it doesn't work out, Jimbo will still be at Florida State. But if we miss on Herman, and he ends up being the next Urban Meyer, and Texas or USC locks him up for 10-15 years we really struck out.

He didn't get fired for not winning games, he got fired for an inept offense. Thats why they fired him and his best friend.

exactly. There isnt a "pro style" offense that doesnt have some type of spread elements to it. It also has some west coast stuff and some old fun n gun. It's not the shite Les Miles ran. Jimbo is a on a different level as a developer as it is.
