For some context, the guy you're quoting wants Coach O as HC.

So I'm thinking personality is pretty important on his list of prerequisites. Never mind that guys like Saban, Meyer and Harbaugh have all known to be awkward or jerks.

This whole discussion is exhibit #1 on why Jimbo is still my top choice.

Speak for your self. I have no idea if O is better than Les, and you dont either. Most of their history leads to the opposite.

True, however we know CEO can recruit like a SOB so the program would be full of talent even if he failed. Also, while his Ole Miss tenure sucked he is 9-2 in his last 11 games. He verbalized his problems while at Ole Miss as well as the changes he has made. I have made failed mistakes in previous jobs that I learned from and I am better because of it. It's the guy who doesn't learn from them that you should avoid. I am not endorsing O in lieu of other options, but I do get the allure.

Remember how long ago that was? I mean.......times change. I'm not saying it's the best idea, but if your sole reason for not wanting the hire is "that one time it really sucked", then that's not good enough. I'm sure with every hire you could find an example of someone going the same route with a coach with a similar track record and find where it bombed.

Once again, doesnt matter if you have all the talent in the world. You have to coach up said talent. Example, the texas longhorns

I pray your guy is right. Do you have an idea of when it would be announced? How soon after last game?

it's not just that one time. CFB history is littered with great coordinators that suck as head coaches. And no i don't want the "sexy hire" i just don't think Aranda is even close to ready to run a program the size of LSU.

true but there are people that are bad at it, good at it, and great at it. O is a great recruiter and has been for years.
