GM is a genious. Don't care if he hasn't been a HC. LSU would regret missing out on him if Miles leaves. But, I hope Miles stays. He has been most successful HC at LSU ever, and I appreciaqte the man's character as much as his success.

Its a risk, but not risk = no reward. LSU is at an elite point where a HC should be hired, not an assistant.

I don't think it would be that hard to find a good replacement if Miles left. We have the talent to work with GM's style for sure.

Does that offense work with JJ? Gus was at Auburn last year and I don't remember them tearing it up on offense.

Averaged ~432 yards a game last year without Cam.

yea but dont let the routes of Furman, Ball St., Miss St., and Louisiana Tech skew your opinion. they lost to Arkansas, kentucky, LSU, Georgia, and Alabama, the five toughest teams they played.

People who say they want to see what he can do without Newton either didn't watch any AU game besides AU-LSU, or are purposefully forgetting Auburn's 2009 offense. Malzahn is very good and would do wonders to the LSU offense. Since hiring him would most likely mean we get to keep our assistants on defense, I'm all for his hiring above that of Tubberville or Pelini. Heck, you're all watching the game. He's more in charge of this team than Chizik is. Auburn would fall apart without him.

The only downside is the fact that no one knows how involved he was in the paying players situation at Auburn.

Malzahn is going to be a special coach.

He should definitely be high on the list if Miles leaves.

Florida took Muschamp and he wasn't a HC.

And Chris Todd was a freaking joke before Malzahn.

and in 2009 LSU lost to Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida, and Penn State and only put up 24 on that same Latech team

The genius really is doing an average job tonight. Oregon is keying on Newton and Auburn can't compensate.

I like Malzahn as a coordinator but being a good HC doesn't mean he will be a good HC

Would you be posting that if Newton just didn't overthrow a wide open WR for a TD? I'd say he compensated.
