Carroll is a respected defensive mind and had success as a defensive coordinator at the NFL level and was actually more successful at NE than people think.
According to the pro Coach O people, coach Os biggest quality is that he WONT be coaching or involved with our coordinators.

Pete Carroll's head coaching record before being hired at USC
6-10 New York jets
10-6 NE made the playoffs
9-7 NE made the playoffs
8-8 missed the playoffs
so 33-31 in the NFL while making the playoffs 50% for a .5156 winning pct. Not bad at all for an NFL guy

So, 10-25 in the SEC with a .2857 win pct

Pete also made the nfl playoffs a couple of
times and was also a successful coordinator in the pros also.
O has bounced around as a d line coach with a failed stint as head coach and a moderately successful stint as an interim in so cal. Now as a d line coach and recruiter he is widely regarded as one of the best but that doesn't mean shite as a head coach.

Based on the lack of logic, I'm going out on a limb to say that most of the ardent Coach O supporters were ardent Les supporters.
