Alleva made a very,very mediocre HC hire (trying to be positive). He knows he has to allow some leeway for a good OC hire. Look at the 4 names (Applewhite, Sark, Kiffin, Briles) being thrown around. That's a collection of baggage if there every was one. But he also knows winning cures all the noise.

Sark is an addict. Applewhite committed an indiscretion.
Briles was fired for covering up gang rape. Baggage does not begin to describe him.

Fine let Briles go coach at a small college in the desert somewhere. That's the only job he'll get for the next 5 years. He won't be hired at any high profile job for sometime. It's just too soon. Whether he was a scapegoat or not.

If LSU fans haven't figured out by now that the media will criticize us no matter what we do, then I don't know what to tell them or people like you who think it matters. Think back just a couple weeks and even to thanksgiving night when mark may ripped us bc texas leaked info about Herman and how we were trash bc we weren't gonna give O a chance, blah blah. The same ones begging for him to get a chance are now laughing at us at every opportunity bc we hired the Cajun who sucked at ole miss. Funny how the narrative changes isn't it?
