when that didn't work out, we were faced with options that were not worth Fisher like money. Herman may turn out to be a great coach but he damn sure has not proved it yet and not worth 6 million a year. that's saban/harbough type money. let him go to that dumpster fire in Austin.

we could have had Fedora or Gundy and Fleck (now at Purdue). imo, coach O was a better choice than them.

Fisher was the ONLY uber successful HC out there that might have left. he decided to stay. it is what it is.

I'd have been ecstatic with Gundy, especially now.

Yep, out of all the coaches it came down to the two media darlings, he did zero research and its obvious.

I don't get the love for Fisher? He had a Heisman QB the only year they did anything ,
Easier conference and Clemson is better year in year out, why not hire that crazy Dabo?

How in the world is Coach O better than current head coaches who have proven themselves at mid-tier programs? That statement lacks logic. It is as Aleva had two names on his list for two months and no one else. Absurd.

Fisher was the only PROVEN HC with titles. he represented the best odds to improve our program. he also is a first class QB coach.

c'mon man, you can't just pick a coach and they come here. Dabo is in a very powerful position at Clemson and simply doesn't need to risk that by a change to anywhere.

Name one school AT ANY LEVEL that was interested in co.

If he was head coach material, he would be one before this.

He wi do ok as long as he has others do the coaching for him.

All three of those are proven winners as HC

You should do this once every 10-15 years yet we limited our "search" to Fisher, who we knew from last year was going to make us pay up and Herman who we weren't willing to pay. Absolutely f ing crazy.

No it was always O. They weren't even going to look for a coach if he'd beaten Florida. After that loss they only made overtures to keep up appearances. Alleva went with the cheap hire from the beginning.

So you're saying we hired a coach that will do ok as long as he don't have to do anything? How do people think this is ok? Alleva and King are running this program south and are making us look stupid in the process!!
