Jacob did not reveal the figure, but it is expected to be in the $3.5 million range (a source close to the negotiations placed it at $3.45 million), which will put Miles among the top three highest-paid coaches in the country.

You'd think the man with the highest winning % in LSU history might get that kind of money.
Especially if LSU wins the SEC Championship game.
Especially if LSU wins the SEC Championship game.

He's not worth it. If this is true, Skip is screwing LSU before he retires.

Sure would be nice if coaching jobs and professional sports pay were ALL perfomanced base.

So, you believe Miles is going to keep all of that. Or, did it possibly dawn on you that he will most likely use a great deal of it to supplment his assistant coaches salaries and keep a great staff?

He does what very few coaches can do...hire good coordinators that fit with his philosophy and he lets them do their job. He recruits well.
That's the definition of a very good coach.
Too many people can only identify a good coach when they are Xs and Os coaches.

I think he hires good coordinators and then spends an insane amount of energy getting in their way.

Really?
The defense is totally turned over to Pelini.
And Our offense has been awesome all year...a total reconstruction from what we had last year.
