Ed Orgeron has the most expensive buyout in the country.

And no, I'm not talking about money.

I'm talking about emotional capital. A collective investment of enthusiasm from the Cajun constituency.

You think eradicating Miles from this program was difficult? Just wait. Watch. 8-4 and 9-3 seasons will be excused away with nonchalance. 5+ loss seasons will be justified by sacrificing a coordinator or two.

The backdoor politics and crony Louisiana brass that put Orgeron in charge of this program will not allow him to be fired. Ever. There will always be an excuse, or another assistant coach to blame.

He will be here until he retires.

Certainly a possibility. I'm actually interested in how much leeway he gets.

I was with you until this final bit of hyperbole. You do make a solid point.

Looking at some of the comments on Facebook, you would have thought that Gandhi was named head coach.

Its crazy. I mean, LSU JUST went through this EXACT same situation with a similar cult of personality leading the way(CLM).

Do people in this State ever learn?

exactly right. it will be near to impossible to fire him because a) everyone loves him and b) he's a cajun

Not to mention he relies on his Coordinators, so nothing will never be his fault.

The pro-Miles faction was Al Qaeda.

The pro-Orgeron faction will be ISIS.

You think you've seen delusion? Just wait. There will be hordes upon hordes of unwashed drunken coon asses who will fight to the death for this man. Anything, and I mean anything will be excusable.

Buckle up. You think it's over? IT HASNT EVEN BEGUN

5 and 6 win seasons are more realistic

Good post. It may be difficult to dislodge him if he doesn't really have a bad record.

The first whiff of firing Ed O will result in bovine Cajuns blowing themselves up in the athletic office

Well, it's already established that he NEEDS good coordinators to be successful. If LSU fails, que the next coordinator. O will be exempt from blame.

Pretty much. Try living here. He's the second coming for most. It's always going to be the players faults or other coaches. If our fans thought the Miles love affair was tough, this is going to be worse. Good luck saying anything negative on local social media. I won't even post on my FB right now bc of the ridiculousness of it all.

I didn't want O, but this is at least a step up from Miles. He had the highest paid staff and the only thing he did was actively fvck up the offense.
