Doesn't last night prove Austin is a cesspool?

If I'm Tom Herman, and I see the UT booster overreach firsthand, doesn't this validate his booster meddling concern?

Everything around here has been a shitstorm for years...in the end it's Bill McRaven's decision, and everything says McRaven wants Strong for another year. The buyout is big, especially for the Assistants.

So, if we land Herman this year. Does he bolt for Texas as soon as the job is open next year?

idk, but i doubt it.

he'll probably boohoo when he leaves houston. seems like a genuine dude.

if houston could've gotten into the b12, i think he would've stayed there.

not even trying to be funny, but I thought Texas had all kinds of money. are they really concerned with buyouts?

Not to mention thar UT boosters objected to Houston entering their league, knowing Herman might stay at UH.

It would be about 17 million. Hanny said last night, "Yes they have money for buyouts, but that don't mean they wanna spend it."

It is my understanding that Herman's agent started this situation to get LSU/UT in a bidding war.

He already knows about them.

We have our share, too.

It is my belief he comes to LSU because:
1. It is a superior product, at least now
2. He knows he and Aranda could be lights out
3. The SEC vs Big12....okie dokie
4. Don't know what his OC will do but cannot coach at UTexas as they are mired in another of their clusters
5. UTexas defeats TCU today
6. UTexas doesn't have a vacancy

Absolutely. To leak that when he still has a group of kids to coach this morning is just awful.

But today, I am a die hard UT fan. Hook 'em. Then carry Charlie Strong off the field CLM style.

Only thing that I got out of it was what a classless act ESPN is running that story during the game with a tagline that "deal could be done Saturday." So they dissed both LSU coach and Houston coach running a rumor story.

I posted this Inc the other thread. I think it gives you a perspective of what is going on at UT. Hopefully the incompetence of their admins is truly higher than ours.

LINK

quote:

Right now, the leadership at Texas consists of a president, Greg Fenves, with an engineering background who knows nothing about sports. He's suddenly getting advice from University of Texas system chancellor, William H. McRaven, a four-star Navy admiral once considered a candidate for Hillary Clinton's cabinet. The athletic director is Mike Perrin, a former trial lawyer the university brought in to soothe feelings after Steve Patterson's ugly ouster in 2015. All are inordinately bright men who are decorated and accomplished in their fields. But the problem here is that none of those fields is collegiate athletics. "Not confident in the process," said a high ranking Texas official earlier this week. "You have an admiral, an engineer and a lawyer in charge. Nobody has ever hired a football coach."

ESPN is a media company. This really shouldn't shock anyone. They have run with rumors before and gotten burned.

Have a great day.
