Does Saban set a cap at what a coach can be paid?

Realistically, how can any school justify paying a coach more than Nick Saban?

I know it will probably happen but it just feels crazy.

No, no coach may be worth as much as Saban but if you can't get Saban and you're desperate and have what you feel is the next best thing available then you pay what it takes to get him

If I'm about to die of thirst and some dude has a $5 bottle of smart water but he won't sell it and I can't take its from him, then you better believe I'm going to pay $6 for a glass of pond water

This was my point on the NFL coaching post. If we're setting a 7 million dollar cap, then I think we can find a fantastic coach.

Jack Del Rio. Chip Kelly.

hates recruiting, doesnt want to go back to that lifestyle. Has no southern ties in the region in recruiting which is a major factor on the college level.

That's not how it works in the SEC. His name didn't get him shite at Oregon, Phil Knights did.

The SEC is the most fierce recruiting grounds in the nation. You can't be successful by half assing your recruiting level. Even Saban works his fricking arse off in recruiting and doesn't always get the players he wants. If that name doesn't "recruit for him" then no name will

Probably about 20 schools. But nobody is going to pay more than what the top guys make. 5 years, 35 million is about the top you will see next year.
