This seems to be the rumor going around right now. He is the OC for the Jaguars.

There's an update on Auburn Undercover also, but I can't see that one.

His wiki page says he is our OC and QB coach.

The Jags offense is pretty awful this year, mostly because of Gabbert IMO. What do we know about him? Is he good?

Would be pretty disappointed. Was never very impressed with him, and it wasn't all Gabbert.

Both the Chiefs and Jets are looking at him as OC as well. I do not put a lot of stock in last year with the Jags with an awful rookie qb.

Reports suggest Kansas City will pursue a high-profile, dynamic offensive coordinator to help Crennel, who is a defensive specialist. Former Kansas City coach Todd Haley was an offensive-minded coach. Bill Muir, the Chiefs’ current offensive coordinator, reportedly may retire.

The problem with finding a star offensive coordinator is the fact there aren’t many available. One name to consider may be former Jacksonville offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter. He is considered an up-and-comer. He interviewed for the head-coaching job in Denver last year. Other available names include former NFL head coaches Brad Childress and Mike Martz.

Koetter might be a safer pick, though, since Childress and Martz have reportedly had issues with getting along with co-workers and/or players in the past. After firing the volatile Haley, the Chiefs want stability and that is a big reason why Crennel was promoted.

Also ESPN had him ranked as the #5 up and coming assistant coach in the NFL last summer.

PM, free update on OC...

LINK

I wish I knew whether Jaguars' offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter or Jacksonville University head coach Kerwin Bell or Temple offensive coordinator Scott Loeffler or someone else is going to be named offensive coordinator. ...............

The thing is that we also have been told that, while not certain, it is likely it will be a week or more before we know who will replace Gus Malzahn. If there was an agreement with any of those three, there'd be no reason to wait. The college season is over. The Jaguars' season is over.

Koetter is Chizik's top choice... He would like to have him before this weekend but Koetter may get a job in the NFL. Seems Chiz is willing to wait to get the BEST FIT even though there is the risk he will have to go to plan B.

I think clearly Chiz wants NFL experience so he can sell that to recruits... To have two coordinators straight from the NFL would be huge and may have never been done before... It would make a huge statement and would be worth the wait...

its the NFL. Saban failed there. You had a failed Jags OC once at AU OC and that worked out.

I think a lot of people forget that.

This x1000... If we close out with Van Gorder and Koetter, that will propel our class with a damned strong finish.. Talk about a huge recruiting tool.

Unless the recruits watched Jags games.

Koetter would be an amazing choice if ya'll could land him. shite, as an LSU fan, I'd be terrified.

I just don't see it happening. At this time last year he was in the top of the running for a head coaching job in the NFL, very unlikely leap to go from NFL Head Coach possibility, to college coordinator.
