Did we already make a deal for a new HC?

Why would they fire Miles now? I think we already found the guy, and he agreed to a number, probably as early as last year before TAM game. No major Top 5 university, pulls the trigger on a coach that's been there for 11 years, without a solid backup plan in place.

Fire Miles now and get a head start on finding a replacement. Head start over teams like (potentially) Auburn, ND, Texas, USC, OU, etc.

But we already loaded the gun, and pointed it at Miles. So I say we have the guy ready to jump ship and he's waiting till the end of the season. i e. Contract legal obligations.

I think a short list has been reviewed and maybe some interest has been gauged thru agent's - but only as feelers
