I watched Finebaum today, and if Jimmy Sexton was watching, which he probably way, it is evident to him that he can ask for the moon from LSU for his client Jimbo Fisher.

I know he is just doing his job, but sometimes you need to leave more space for your team to negotiate, and he left none.

If you think sexton needed dellenger to tell him he has LSU by the balls then you're dense. Since it became clear UT was entering the market this was obvious.

Everyone is so paranoid about this hire.

I'm really really hoping that they are feeding some false information, otherwise we learned nothing from last year and shows how incompetent everyone associated with the search is. If we really had Jimbo then none of this should be coming out. It seems odd to me.

everyone seems to be forgetting that Jimbo wants LSU about as much if not more than LSU wants Jimbo.

There's only 1 LSU. There's quite a few qualified head coaching candidates.

While Fisher certainly has some leverage, we're not "recruiting" Jimbo to come here. He has wanted this job for a long time, and finally the job is open and LSU might be able to make it happen.

I want Jimbo as much as the next guy, but this is probably his only shot left in his career to get this job. If he really wants it, he'll take it, but I doubt very seriously he'll be "bending us over" to make it happen because I feel pretty confident that he wants it bad.

If I was Alleva, and I was looking to use some misinformation, Ross Dellinger is the exact person I would use to leak info to indirectly.

Just saying...

I hope you're right. there has to be a lot of interest or we wouldn't be going down this road again this year.

You are correct in that too much information is being leaked. The problem isn't the LSU Ath dept. The leaks come from the BOS and TAF. Unfortunately with the way LSU is setup with the BOS getting approval over the hire and the TAF having to provide funding, there is no way to stop the information leaking as long as these good ole boys keep running to there friends with information. They are the reason Jimbo wasn't named our coach last year.

Honestly, leaks this close to a potential decision day are virtually unavoidable in today's world. At least this wasn't the top story in college football for two weeks while Miles literally "played for his job." That is what killed the deal last time. All of the negativity that was swirling around the program made politicians and Alexander flinch.

That isn't happening this time. These are just standard coaching rumors. If they can just keep it somewhat contained, it will be ok. Oh, and the Texas fiasco is a HIGE help in this regard. They are getting the bulk of the focus right now.

One can be happy in the status quo...one cannot. If Jimbo comes, its going to be a huge compensation package.

Agreed

And I am confident LSU realizes that it is an investment they have to be willing to make, or will risk losing many who have supported the program for a long time.

FKA and the BOS showed good sense in acting quickly w the Miles termination, and this was done for financial reasons, IMO. They knew what would happen to attendance the rest of this season.

I hope they realize that refusing to pay Fisher this time after having him last year and wasting 18 returning starters, will be an admission that we are no longer interested in competing w Bama.
