I don't have any in this case. Just asking a question. Probably wishful thinking.

I am sure the rumor is true, but Crowton is not going anywhere, I will gladly eat crow if he is canned or leaves for another HC position, however, word is he is not leaving.

Tigerbait for sure. 1 guy started a thread stating that Crowton will resign by the end of the week.

He's looking for a job and Les is doing everything he can to help him find one. Crowton is no dummy. He understands he's the scapegoat this year and he's looking for another spot to land. When he leaves will be predicated upon how soon he finds another job.

Billy Gonzales is going to be the man next year. FACT

By the by, if this is the case - Crowton gone, BG to OC... that would make sense why Les talked with Kragthorpe... he's a QB coach...

belowpar said there is nothing moving currently. . .he did say some coaches had been "felt out" as early as the early part of December.

Nothing really happened since then, so he says that he is beginning to think GC is staying.

I actually think it could work well.

He called red zone plays during UF's NC run in 2007.

He's considered a bright up and comer.

It's a risky proposition for sure, being that he's unproven, but he seems to have the right skills/mind for the job.

Plus, I'd guess he would run a run-oriented attack a la Urban, so that would blend well with Les' mentality (though of a different style).

That said, I'm just speculating.

Thinks always sticks in my crawl. Why did Urban pass him up for Adazzio?

If I had to guess it would be 2 reasons:

1) He knew Addazio would be more of a yes man.
2) Addazio had previous experience as an OC at Indiana.

big risk at this point, IMO, but Miles needs to probably take big risks. the problem with Mallory/Peveto is they just couldn't handle the "coordination" part of it. Strategy development, personnel packages, efficiency, molding the scheme around the strengths/weaknesses of the players, etc. Is BG capable of putting all of this together at a big program? or does he need to go take his lumps at a smaller school first?

It would be a cheap move for LSU if they promoted Gonzo and understandable. Can't get worse. We can possibly find a stud OC...or not so much. Either way, it will let us win games or help us get rid of Miles quicker. Whichever you see fit.

Kragthorpe as QB Coach makes sense too...that might be why he hasn't taken a job anywhere.
