And the situation is very fluid. This guy wants it, but he's not the first choice. If they wait on the first choice, options 2-4 might be lost. People reconsider. Egos get in the way.

I've been saying this all along. If Harbaugh is their target, they need to get a relatively quick yes or no from him. No self-respecting coach worth a damn is going to wait a month to be a consolation prize.

Michigan may be the worst program in the country at picking head football coaches. They have the same disease that LSU used to have in having to pick an "LSU guy" or in their case a "Michigan Man" to run the program.
Just pick the best guy out there and move along.
