He won the Rose Bowl with a QB who is slow as shite. Chip isn't going to run his QB onto the IR in the NFL. And he sure as hell shouldn't go get a guy like Vick who is made of glass and can't read a coverage anyway.

College coaches of late are having success in nfl as well as rookie QBs.. I wouldn't just assume it won't work

I don't see Chip Kelly doing much in the NFL. That scheme is built for college ball and will be an epic failure in the NFL.

I agree.

OC to HC always works out.

If he wanted to he could just go get Darron Thomas from the CFL or get Dennis Dixon a tryout. Eagles offense had his kind of players but the Browns offered him more control.

I don't think he's an idiot like spurrier and is going to try to run his college offense in the NFL. No one is that dumb........except Spurrier.

Spurrier's offense worked in the NFL for years, he just didn't have a QB

I hate when people say Spurrier's system didn't work. Spurrier failed because of shite talent and a terrible work ethic.

Chip will adapt the offense to his personnel.

People who think he's a guy that wants to run his QB 40 times a game are mistaken

I don't think those 2:00 tee times 4 days a week cut it in the pro game.

that doesn't mean shite, just b/c he can call plays doesn't mean he is a good HC

I don't think people are suggesting something that extreme. The implication is that it's going to be hard for him to be as creative when he can't just find overmatching athletes to to run crazy wrinkles against NFL defenses. I obviously have never worked for or with him, but he also kind of strikes me as a guy who would want complete control over his program/franchise, similar to Saban in that sense. It may be hard for him to work with many NFL GMs.

I think he's a guy that does what works. He has his preferences, sure but Weeden ran a no huddle spread passing attack at OSU. He'll roll with that and keep an eye out for a more mobile guy. He likes guys that can run a bit but are proficient passers that don't make a ton of mistakes.

I just think a lot of perceptions about him are incorrect.

Agreed. He really doesn't intend to run the QB that much. His offense doesn't need a super-mobile QB, it'll work with a good passer who is mobile enough to scramble occasionally

Right, but the fact that he is in the NFL greatly decreases one of his best attributes in that he can't create ridiculous mismatches and exploit defensive weaknesses in the same way he did at Oregon IMO.

His game management is also top notch though. In light of both factors, probably the most innovative and possibly tied for the best CFB coach of the modern era.

We'll see how he does with all the other shite that comes with being an NFL head coach.

I think it's safe to say now that Chip will have a solid career in the NFL.

True. He's taking a page out of Cheat Carroll's book by skipping town before the sanctions hit.
