Handed Oklahoma their only loss this season (thus far). That buys him another year. If they start 0-2 or worse next year, he gets canned before mid-season. Of course, all that could be bullshite and they could hand him his walking papers this afternoon for all I know.

You have to let him go and make another offer to Saban. There is no way that program should be in the tank. The money that comes in to that University is enormous. Throw the bank at Saban and see if he takes it. Its worth another shot.

Youre right...the money donors at Texas are richer and more egotistical than any other school in the country- imo. I could definitely see them throwing some big ranch with a sexy grotto at Nick and Terry just as a starter. The swinging dicks behind that throne do not like being told no... but, Saban has his team right in the thick of it AGAIN ( fucccckkkkkkkkkk), so I could see him telling Texas no again as well. Holy shite someone get that dude out of the SECW. Please, Colts, make it happen.

Charlie will end up at a Florida school only if school wants or thinks they can get Saban Kelly or Meyer

Saw them for play for the first time last night. Two observations:

1. Do not want Kliff and LSU.

2. Charlie should be gone.

People underestimate how much of a train wreck Texas was when he took over. He will get another year.

Baylor could really turn Texas out prison style. It may be necessary this year.

They probably will, but not likely to make a difference. The new AD will give Strong a chance.

Arkansas, Texas A&M, and LSU all recruit against Strong in Texas. We will gladly pass the hat and toss in some extra money for Texas to not only keep Strong but extend his contract.

I think he's a better coach then some folks think, but he is completely wrong for that culture and state. Which is why we need to do everything we can to keep him there.

I always thought Strong was a very good coach.

The issues at Texas are clearly deeper than x's and o's. Strong is too good of a leader and a coach to flame out, though. IMO, they'll rebound in a big way next season.

Firing Charlie after 2 years won't solve anything. He's made some questionable coaching hires and whatnot, but this team could easily be 7-4, rather than 4-7 had some thing actually gone their way this season. Besides, who the frick is gonna wanna come here after seeing the last guy get fired after two years, especially when there's a complete lack of upperclassman talent

That 4th down play alone should get him fired

He's talking about he's not leaving, but he needs to leave NOW!

Texas is far beyond just wins and losses as their problem. But watch what's about to happen. He's going to be a fool and stay there for one more year getting his third class in and it's going to be pretty much his by then.

They'll probably go 6-6 and he'll be canned and the next coach takes everything he stablished, and wins 10 games right off the bat. I've seen this show several times now.

Texas let Mack stick around and throw tantrums and they got stuck with Strong instead of Saban. No way does a program like Texas have Strong as their number 1 choice. Well since they didn't do what was necessary to get Saban two years ago, either give Strong another year or offer $10M per year to Saban and be done with it.

Yeah, clearly there are some deep cultural issues at Utexas, but to this point Strong seems like a terrible fit.

I have no way to prove this, but my suspicion is that because High School football is so big in Texas that the kids have been spoiled a lot along the way, and once they get to UTexas (and to a similar extent aTm) they don't put in the work and think they are already top dog. You see this particularly along the lines of scrimmage where OL and DL don't seem nearly as developed.

I thought Strong was a really good coach, but after watching this Texas team and it's game management/preparation and play calls, I'm beginning to waiver. I think he does need to be back in the Southeast (maybe south carolina? although I think they passed on him years ago).

I think he negotiates a buyout and leaves after this season. Him being around to start next year would be bad for both him and the university.
(Though I am happy to watch UT do bad)

Nah, as an LSU fan, I think LSU should take Jimbo and use his pipeline from Florida and keep rolling. Would rather Saban go to Texas so we'd only have to deal with him in the playoffs.

Hope they offer him something stupid he just can't pass up.

Wasn't their offer 10mm two years ago? I thought that was confirmed somewhere.
