So at this point that is his selling point.

High level recruiting. Great motivator

He wont frick with the OC or the DC.

Not a terrible pitch, especially as a plan B.

He knows La like the back of his hand. Knows every HS coach. Our staff is set and O provides enough of a shakeup from Les to offer him a contract. If we finish our year strong I'd offer him a 3 year deal.

People seem to think O is stupid and knows little about football. What is their rationale for this? How do we know O doesn't know defense inside and out? Who says he doesn't know offense? Is this simply an assumption because he's a coon arse? I'll say it again, if O proves himself in the next few weeks he should get the job!

10-25 record is a good indicator

Are you drunk?

We are all coon arse or the majority of us are. That doesn't mean I am going to defend his miserable job as a HC in where he built a team and hired the guys he wanted.

Bill Belichek failed his first time as HC. According to some of you he should never get a 2nd chance.

Sweet, point to me where he has ran a defense before

I can point to his 3-21 SEC record in his only HC gig 10 years ago and the fact that Houston Nutt of all people took the team O couldn't win with and won back to back Cotton Bowls in his first two years.

I'm not counting his interim games. It's not his team

He will not have to rebuild LSU like Ole Miss. He needs to fine tune and improve the offense and keep recruiting.

Thanks for eating a bunch of other threads already discussing this and regurgitating it in to something shittier. Really appreciate it.

wrong and wrong as hell. one failure is not an indicator of future success unless the failure is due to poor work ethic or just simply being in over ones head (like Dooley).

coach O knows why ole miss didn't work out; he tried micro managing and he LEARNED not to do that again. as a head coach, he would do very little coaching; their job duties are different.

I think coach O would do a super job at LSU as long as he stays motivated; he's a recruiting monster and he is SMART; DAMN SMART. the man knows what he knows and what he doesn't know and that sir, is what separates a lot of people in this world.

I want to see how the year plays out but, imo, coach O has already proved he's the man. he took a team that was dysfunctional on offense and poor on special teams and, in a short time, has got them playing extremely well.

he may not win 'em all this year but I am confident he will get the most out of this team; and after all what more can a guy do?

Just win, Ed. Show what Les could have done with this roster.

I hope you get the job, because it would man you kicked arse.

All for O getting a second chance. Just not at LSU. This is too big of a job to take that chance.
