In what way?

The NCAA formula is: [ { (8.4 * yards) + (330 * touchdowns) - (200 * interceptions) + (100 * completions) } / attempts ]. Or has it changed?

Part of passing efficiency counts completions. It skews the the number of "actual" throws.

His system with the QBs we have on sidelines would be dangerous. I would like to see Scott and Mac taking snaps in this system

That's sound good. As Mascona said, this is a pro style guy. What would happen with dual threats in this offense is purely speculation.

run it with Guice and Akers??

Guice and Akers won't beat Bama. Thought we fired a coach to do more. Some where Les/Cam are laughing there arses off. We ran them of to bring another version of them.

More proof that Orgeron is completely clueless...

"I do believe that nowadays, that you have to run the spread offense."

Clemson has a very SEC-ish defense. And Pittsburgh offense dominated them.

The SEC defense thing is so fricking overblown these days.

No it's not. The SEC had 4 top 15 defenses in the country this year w/ quite a few more in the top 50

In my example, I demonstrated the effect of counting completions of shovel passes. It brings the rating DOWN. Higher percentage conpletions for a low number of yards brings the rating down.

Though you have refused to offer any specifics of your own with regard to which way the rating gets "skewed", I'm under the impression you have been trying to suggest it falsely inflates the efficiency rating.

Where am I wrong ?

I think you are wrong. Additional completions do not negatively affect the result.

Example: 8/10 200 yards 1 TD 0 INTs = 281.00 LINK

Example: 10/10 200 yards 1 TD 0 INTs = 301.00 LINK

In the second example, there are two more completions, with same number of yards, and passer rating went up.

so out of 70 plays they run that 10+ times every game? so you're saying the shuffle pass is around 15% of their offense?

Man read the thread. It skews passing efficiency.

Will this offense attract top QBs? Pocket passers or Dual Threats. I don't see anything that would tempt either

Oh Really ?????????

Myles Brennan's high school coach Bill Conides tells @wafb Matt Canada would not only be a great fit for #LSU, but for Brennan as the OC.

Will Conides be playing for LSU or Brennan? Oklahoma State is a more attractive QB system.

I'm sure in his 1 year at Pitt he was able to recruit and develop the QB he wanted. Either that or he was stuck with what he had to work with.
