Can someone explain an apparent contradiction to me?

In one thread it is stated Miles and Bob Stoops have a bad relationship - Stoops would eat shite rather than coach with Miles.

Then in several other threads it says Miles is interviewing Mike Stoops as a favor to Bob. How does one do a favor for someone who there is so much dislike between you they would rather eat shite than work for you?

I know, I know, sorry for interjecting some semblance of reason into this whole coaching search thing...
