This is starting to sound like where Miles is going. Unless Miles is enamored with or gets a great deal on a better candidate.

Could we accept this?

Is Brick up to the position and that level of coordination?

I doesn't sound like anyone knows what Miles is going to do. One day it's CP and O, the next day it's "don't count Steele out". I honestly think we will know who it is, when the hire is actually made. Everything else is just speculation.

I'd rather O as DC if that's the best we can do.

Miles does not know what Miles is going to do

He had an easy hire with CP/O now he has squandered that -

If Shoop is a no go, then yea Haley to DC + Coach O as DL coach is probably where we will go.

Was it an easy hire with CP? I'm not so sure

He made a final plea to keep Chavis but in the end he left for more money

This is Alleva's doing.

Only question which will never be known is:
Has Alleva been ordered to tighten the purse strings on Miles or is he just doing what he always does....bean counting.

Either way
FIRE ALLEVA.COM should be up and running

OH and BOOKMARK THIS TOO

I bet O does not come here either.

What about Corey Raymond as DC? Can recruit and teach. I assume he's a good strategist.

I'm still going with Durkin as DC.

If Anderson goes to Michigan, along with Mattison being retained

D.J. Durkin just makes too much sense at LSU for that not to happen.

He's the best defensive coordinator without a job, and LSU is the best program without a defensive coordinator.

*Miles wants a guy that can recruit, check

*Miles wants a guy that's well respected: Durkin has coached under Harbaugh, Meyer and Muschamp in his last three stints, check.

*Miles wants a guy that has been a DC in the SEC, check.

*Miles also needs a guy to replace Chavis as LB coach, Durkin has been the Gators LB coach the past four seasons.

Miles isn't going to promote from within. He wants someone with DC experience

I think O as defensive coordinator would be too combative for Miles.

Durkin or shoop would be fine. Would be nice to get some recruiting momentum and preemptive lay hire ogre away from some other sec program.
