Would definitely prefer to have head coaching experience but EVERYONE seems to agree he is a stud in waiting and will be an HC in 2-3 years max regardless.
We also know that next year is not going to be an NC/CFP expectation season.
Give the stud DC a huge break and call it a day. If he is what everyone thinks he is, he will rise to the occasion and we will have our HC for the next 15-20 years.
