I know Kiffin's contract expires in February...but have to guess he a leading candidate for Houston job (and likely unavailable until January). That leaves Sark, who was OC at USC in 2006-2007 (and QB coach the two years before that).

Why would saban not promote him if Kiffin goes to Houston?

Well now Saban has to deal with the dreaded binder of Coach O.

We just took it in the butt on a 3 month window for coaching hire. No reason to be optimistic on a quick OC hire....

Considering Sark was probably drunk over half the games while he was a head coach, I'd make sure his little dorm fridge was stocked with the finest brews.

Well, the theory is that O and Sark are friends from their time at USC, and he will come join his friend.

If he is, then the O hiring is immediately a failure. Supposedly he got the job based on hiring Kiffin.

The goalposts have been moving the entire time anyway so it's no surprise.

We thought that with Herman and Aranda. Money talks.

If Sark moves to BR he will likely never be sober again...

Can they still be friends while Sark has a better OC position at Alabama?

And why is that such a bad thing? Being drunk got him 2 pretty good head coaching gigs.

Louisiana is a terrible place for drunks who don't want to be, but great if it's a desired state.
