We all know how much money Saban makes for Sexton, so do we honk that Saban is pushing to keep Kiffin out of the SEC as an OC? I mean, how else do you explain Kiffin potentially taking less money to go to friggin FAU? No way that Saban isn't playing this right?

No, Jimmy Sexton likes money, the green kind, he'll any he can get for his clients. He's way bigger than Saban and not gonna let him screw up his bankroll!

Sexton shits on Saban.

Forbes estimated that Sexton has negotiated about $742.5 million in contracts for NFL players and college coaches, earning about $24.8 million in commissions (the industry average is about 3 to 4 percent). He recently negotiated huge deals for NFL clients including Philip Rivers, Ndamukong Suh and Julio Jones.

Which seems weird because yellow teeth and Kirby both got SEC jobs. Maybe his rule is no SEC West.

Saban is his crown jewel period end of story! And looking at who else is in Sexton's stable "Muschamp & Fisher" two from Saban's tree I would assume they are there because of Nick. Everyone knows there are different rules for your top player and Saban is that. Is Sexton going to jeopardize his career for Satan? Absolutely not, but if you don't think Saban & Sexton don't have a special relationship then you need to put down the crack pipe it is rotting your brain!

I appreciate that the two are connected but I really cann't see Saban giving this much of a flying frick. It is not part of his process & he stays focused on what he can control. No agent will frick over another client just to make one happy. Sexton opens that door & word will get around to all his clients..they are second tier clients.

You're an idiot. He has a fiduciary duty to his client, Kiffin not Saban.

Yeah this is stupid. That is a great way for Sexton to lose a shite load of clients.

Oh so somehow you actually think Suh is a center of influence!!!!! Seriously bro, put down the crack pipe!!!

Suh makes him more money but it is real simple, if Suh and Saban call at the same time which phone call do you think he answers and who do you think he tells he will call back? If you think it is Suh that he picks up and Saban he tells he will call back, than I can't help you because you can't fix stupid!!!!!!

if he did I'd fire Jimmy Sexton and sue both NS and JS for tampering with clients best interest.

Coach Saban seems to systematically make-over the offense on a regular basis. He knows what a liability it is to be predictable on that side of the ball, so he routinely changes his OC.

That said, Saban likely is trying to advise Kiffin on the best possible approach to ensure success along his career path. I believe he is annoyed, more than anything else, to watch Kiffin flounder and cast about.

If there is a problem with going to LSU, for Saban, it is likely more about Kiffin's folly in getting side-tracked, than it is about some sort of competitive advantage gained by the Tigers.

Just my personal opinion but Saban doesn't control Sexton one bit.
Kiffins ego may make it hard to swallow his pride and work under someone he has always bossed around. He even buck Saban at times.

LSU needs a good quality OC that will not create havoc, and Kiffin will do just that. Great game day play caller for any type QB. Just not sure LSU wants to sell their soul for Kiffin who would be even harder to keep a leash on especially working for a guy he feels equal to if not above.
Many at Alabama didn't want him back this year. What red blooded man doesn't like pussy but if half the admin is trying to cover up all Lanes screw-up off the field it can have a devastating effect even with a strong dictator in charge.
Wend Saban made it clear "it was an arse chewing, not a discussion" that should tell you he's had enough of Kiffin. Sure he will say the right things like he's ready for a Head Coaching job, but that's little more than coach speak and good publicity that Saban is getting out there he will help his assistant coaches.
Why would he want Kiffin at LSU? But by the same token he knows what Kiffin would do under a "friend" as his taskmaster. Orgeron can get a good OC that would be much more loyal to the program than Kiffin.

That's MHO and not a nervous fearful response. Until Kiffin can start letting his Big head override his little head he's gonna be a distraction bordering on a disaster waiting to happen. I'd like to see him go out west where he wont be under the Southern Moral Microscope so to speak.
With LSU's talent a good OC would look very good or even great.

TLDR

Footnotes - Kiffin good on game-day, badly immature and undisciplined the rest of the time. Those things are amplified in the football following South.

Good read. I agree that Kiffin will not be good for LSU. It's Ed that followed Lane everywhere. Not the other way around.

Folks should see this. When Ed got the head gig at Ole Miss, did his best buddy Lane join him there? frick no.

LSU is Lane's fallback plan. There are others that are as worthy of the opportunity as He is.
