Alright, I'm really starting to think that Jimbo Fisher will be our next coach.

First off, keep this in mind – the longer we go without knowing who the next head coach will be, the more likely it becomes that it will be Jimbo. Alleva knows he could hire Orgeron on the spot. They met today. Didn't happen. Strong will likely be out tonight. If we get to tomorrow afternoon and we’re still unsure as to who the next head coach will be, I think it becomes obvious by that point.
First, we have this information that was released yesterday –
Read this very carefully and think for a second –
- DA, Random, and 9458 all said we had Jimbo last year.
- We now know that the decision to keep Les was indeed made at halftime of last year’s A&M game (LINK)
- Jimbo Fisher didn’t receive a raise, or any type of contractual bonus or enhancement at the end of last season.
We then fire Miles in September, and have 2+ months to communicate with Jimbo via backchannels – and after last year, and all this time, we’re supposed to believe that days before the end of the regular season, that LSU and Jimbo suddenly can’t agree on something as major and foundational as a salary? Something to which they reportedly agreed to last year? It's not adding up.
9458 reported early in the morning on September 25th that LSU was holding a meeting to decide Miles' future. That thread was deleted.
Later in the afternoon, we learned that Miles had been fired after LSU officials had met earlier that morning. He clearly knows individuals within the AD - and, as he has been stating for over a year, his sources aren't merely boosters or TAF members - they are people in the decision room making the calls.
Also note that LSU9458 has been stating all week that there would be a heavy misinformation campaign conducted by LSU in order to ensure the deal with Jimbo would be safe. Here are his threads -
Thread #1.
Thread #2.
Thread #3.
The information reported earlier this week by DA and Random supports the notion that LSU is engaging in a misinformation campaign. For weeks, we heard that Jimbo was "Alleva's guy", and suddenly, on Wednesday, DA and Random changed their tune. Random's exact wording was "Herman now VERY much in play."
I'm not questioning their sources, as I have no doubt they have connections - but looking back, it seems that the same narrative was disseminated to a specific group of "insiders", which then passed that narrative on to DA and Random. And again, all of this comes after the fact that LSU9458 explicitly told us earlier in the week that we would see the media run with misinformation and inaccurate reporting.
One of his recent quotes - "All that glitters is not gold".
Sure, maybe he's wrong. Maybe we are desperate for Herman at this point, and maybe we will end up with Orgeron.
But as I analyze his posts, and then contextualize them around everything else that has happened, I'm starting to think...he may be right - it really could be Jimbo.
He still doesn't have a new contract from Florida State. He still hasn't said anything definitive as to whether he's staying.
As I said, I think Jimbo becomes more likely with every hour that passes by without some type of official announcement. With Strong likely being fired tonight, things with Herman will progress at light speed. If we're sitting here tomorrow night and still have no clue as to who the next head coach will be, I think it's almost quite likely at that point that it's Jimbo.
First, we have this information that was released yesterday –
quote:
Three sources with knowledge of the negotiations said LSU was prepared to pay $6 million a year for Fisher and upped the ante to $6.8 million annually for the former Tigers assistant. But even that number was not enough to sway Fisher's camp, led by agent Jimmy Sexton. Fisher is making $5.25 million this season.

I desperately want to believe this, but I'm a pessimistic person.

Too bad he already pulled his name out of this thing.

I'd leave if everyone at fsu dropped the D on my wife (now ex). Come to LSU single and it would be on!

At this point, I'm ready to believe it's the fricking waterboy

If it's him @ a 10 year contract or O we are done

I'm actually starting to believe

That took a lot of interpretation, damn

Nothing will happen until after FL v FSU. Then its on

Very thoughtful analysis and I agree. I'm also hoping this turns to be correct. Jimbo is the one attainable guy that warrants driving up the price tag.

If Jimbo has already agreed and it's just a formality, we should pretend to be REALLY interested in Herman. Make Texas pay $10m/year for him, then make Bama have to pay Saban more than that (after all, he is the best coach, shouldn't he be the highest paid?).

Thank you C, just trying to bring an honest source here, I love my university just as much as everyone here.
It's very hard to sort through what is real, bullshite, trolling, etc. but I have only tried to call out bullshite posters who claim sources but when called out they don't respond and they crawfish.
