The Four Horsemen of LSU's Apocalypse.

Jindal. Fortunately already fired.
Alexander. Needs to be fired.
Aleva. Needs to be fired.
Miles. Soon to be fired.

If Jimbo told us yes, then Alexander dropped the ball (because he overstepped his power by killing it).

If Jimbo told us no, then Alleva dropped the ball. (By not having a Plan B and C).

How about we just fire them both since it's obvious one of them dropped the ball.

It just does not fit with his overall narrative that the LSU institution is in grave financial trouble !!

I'm sure this has been said already without having to read past this post, but to drive the point home.

LSU does not pay for the buyout.

His arse should be hung from the gallows with Alleva. The TAF can do whatever the frick they want. It is not STATE taxpayer money! it is PRIVATE MONEY!

Big money just needs to tell him buddy you will pay a price now and defund him cut off his 8 million he gets from the TAF for the academic side. let him go beg and plead the state for help.

I'd laugh if the big money guys got so fed up and said screw it and let the whole thing burn to the ground, even the athletic side(defund) just to prove a point to alleva and the chancellor and any future assclowns trying to tell the TAF what to do.

You realize that LSU Athletics doesn't exist without academics don't you? He kind of calls the shots

Mark Emmert pulled LSU out of the darkness. F King Douchbag sent LSU back to the 90s.

Seriously? He's the one who gave us Miles. Granted the timing of Saban leaving was terrible, but Miles was a horrible hire. It was funny watching the Miles Cult put down all the names mentioned as possible replacements, considering that Miles was basically a NOBODY when he was picked from obscurity and given the keys to the Lamborghini.

and how much money has academics put into athletics?

I'll patiently await your response.

TAF has put 8 million annually into academics.

F him. Only thing he should be doing is bringing TAF officials a cup of coffee when they ask for it. or fixing sammiches.

I agree, but you're fighting public perception. How many times did we hear, "for a state that's struggling and a university that's struggling how the hell can they justify this?!" EVEN from some local media. It would be private money but it looks bad from the POV of the uninformed.

Screw public perception. Public perception ain't helping LSU win the SEC West.

Oh no doubt, but the Hay Ride article (if true) made a good point. Dropping that kind of money on a buyout could raise questions.

Not saying we should have kept/fired Les, but it isn't hard to see the other side. The general public won't separate TAF and the university.

Good gosh, that was an obvious issue considered at the very beginning. Several of us pointed it out as a PR problem when the Rabalais piece dropped. It was used as a convenient excuse for killing the deal.

I think McKay is doubling down to back his claims that this was a done deal with Jimbo. I just don't find it believable that you had Jimbo locked in and the president comes in at the 11th hour and crushes it.

Exactly.

Can you imagine the outcry by the boosters if that was the case.

Alleva had no plan B. He didn't have the money for a buyout without Jimbo. And, he knew he didn't have other candidates even lined up. How he allowed the Jimbo plan to go forward publicly with no plan B is where he made his unforgivable mistake.
