After Herman/Fisher, what realistic hire would cause no criticism of JA?

Ed was my 3rd choice personally. I am just sad it seems like Herman was ours and we didn't pull the trigger.

Gundy, Fleck, Fedora. People wouldn't be happy, but if Jimbo and Herman turned us down people would understand. Instead, we hired a guy that couldn't get the HC job at Syracuse.

You dont let those names get out if you arent going to land them.

It builds up an expectation, that if you miss, youve failed.

You cannot force a guy to coach at LSU. It appears Herman was using LSU or at least wanted UT more. What was JA supposed to do?

Not sure how you interpret anythjng as "Herman was ours". If he wanted the UT job he was going to take the UT job.

Bullish!t. Alleva would have been criticized for most of those guys by many of the ones bitching about O. And, those guys would have costed more in years and money. And, for instance, what has Fedora done for UNC to make you think he would win NCs at LSU?

What's done is done. I will give him a chance.

Through all of the O hate, he still went 11-4 at two marquee programs going through dumpster fire HC departures as an interim. That is fricking hard to do.

Macyntire, Mullen, fleck, Washington coach, aranda. Not necessarily hire them, but interview them at least. Leak it (like everything else you do) so it's known that you at least did your due diligence. It's like he had no serious plan. He had two months. Instead, O has a plan? Must be the guy.
