Knoxville, TN-News Channel 3 has learned former NFL coach Jon Gruden has a contract offer in hand from the University of Tennessee and a decision could be made as early as Wednesday. Part of the offer is Gruden getting a piece of the NFL’s Cleveland Browns, who were recently bought by Jim Haslam, one of UT’s biggest boosters who played on the Vols’ national championship teams in the early fifties. He’s also the father of Tennessee governor Bill Haslam. A potential hangup could be over money Gruden may be owed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from his stint as head coach there that ended in 2008. The NFL is looking into the conflict of owning part of one team while getting money from another.

I will believe it when I see it.

Gruden got rid of the ugly orange uniforms that Tampa wore, maybe he will change the Tenn colors when he gets there..

Wow. That's a very in depth rumor if this doesn't come true.

I would like him to come but don't think he is, I wish UT fans would give up on this.

The owner of the Browns is not the same person who played for General Neyland.

Current NCAA rules would prohibit this Gruden-Browns nonsense unless the ownership stake was first donated to Tennessee.
That's no issue. A quick donation and it's done.

If he's really offering this, which I'm not buying, then it would probably be to coach for the Browns.

Hubbs confirms now that Gruden and Jimmy Haslam have met face to face in the last month. However he was told recently that it was "a meeting to pick Gruden's brain about the NFL."

LOL at posting a Memphis news stations report. I live in memphis and trust me. There is not a quality sports department in the city. The only thing memphis news stations know how to do is report somebody getting shot, robbed, or stabbed.
Glenn Carver = Biggest douche of them all.
