If those two teams play in mid-October, Oregon wins by 20

How do you come up with this?

I think this loss was on helfrich and staff, the team just didn't seem focused and ready, in addition to some poor play calling and coaching decisions. In 2010, against auburn, oregon was completely outclassed in the trenches, and it was darron thomas(probably the worst qb oregon has had in the last 15 years) against cam newton, yet Kelly's team only lost by 3. Oregon had so many opportunities last night, and with 1 exception, couldn't make a play on offense(dropped 3rd down passes) or defense(allowing 3rd and long conversions) when they needed one. The red zone execution was awful. I really don't think there was any talent gap between the teams, just the biggest coaching mismatch in the short history of "national championship" games.

They lost that game on both sides of the ball with drops on offense and then 3rd and Chavis play calling on defense. They played too soft on defense every time they got tOSU into 3rd and long and without their best DB, they got picked apart. If they blitzed Jones on those plays, the whole game likely changes.
