Saban is not going anywhere... Why should he... Texas could offer $12 million, but he is set at Bama.
Posted on 11/28/12 at 10:05 am to TreyAnastasio
Why didn't he bolt to Texas last year?

If Texas forks over double the cash he would be gone and they'd have protests all over their faculty. They already had protests over Mack's salary.
That being said, really poor flame attempt. If you post a half naked woman, then at least some of the people won't jump on you for posting this type of stupidity.

LSU said NO WAY, NO WAY he could LEAVE. NO WAY
NO WAY LSU wouldnt pay him, NO WAY, NO WAY. And he left.
GUMPS would poision their own trees!
Before everyone speaks of certainty, 10 Year, 100 Million dollar contract offer, he would leave.
Texas A&M is best team in the state, and UT fans can't have that. AND, Mack Brown is on the way out....Who else would be the LOGICAL choice?
NO WAY, NO WAY....
Let's pull up the Tiger Dropping threads from 2003 and see if you change your tunes

Difference. Saban left LSU for the NFL, he won't leave Alabama for another college. End of story. You are praying and Saban is not listening.
This was my 69th post, Roll Tide.

I think LSU fans believe Saban is coming to Texas more than Texas fans - go look at most Texas sites. While we may think Saban would be awesome here, very few of us think he'd actually leave Bama to come to Texas.

Money is no object for Texas yes they bitched about Macks salary but they also felt they should be getting more in return...
For Saban you will not hear the bitching on any salary that is paid for him...
While Saban would not have to "build" the program up the challenge of winning 3 NCs at 3 different schools woul be the nice shiny lure...it would be the ultimate challenge for him especially being in his 60s now...it would be a record that would pretty much guarantee that would not ever be broken and being called the greatest of all time...
Remember money is not an issue with Saban, he's set for life...it's the challenge and feeding than ego of his...
I really think he would give hard consideration an IMO go...

Double the cash
Any offer would be matched. Fact.

Could bring Big 12 back to glory
Gonna take more than one program to do that. Also, Saban couldn't care less about the Big 12.

Could bring Tejas back to glory
Might intrigue him. Not enough on it's own, though.

Bored with BAMA 3 NC's in last 4 years
Yeah. Winning is boring. There are no challenges in starting over every year and building back up. :sarcasmfontused:

Wife hates Tuscaloosa
Untrue. Tuscaloosa is not the social capital of the South by any means, but she has a comfortable life and is very active within the community. Additionally, she's married to the highest paid coach in college football (yes, Bama already pays more than Texas for its coach) and she can go wherever she wants to go whenever she wants to go.
From another poster:

better city, better program, more money, easier to recruit.
Better city? no argument from me. Austin is awesome.
Better program? In what way? Bama has more bowl wins, ten win seasons, championships, etc than Texas. Bama is very high (top 5) on the list of most profitable programs in college football.
More money? Not likely. Bama would match any offer. Texas wouldn't make an offer so unreasonable that it wouldn't be matched.
Easier to recruit? Get real. Recruiting doesn't seem to be a problem Saban is facing at Bama. You actually think it is hard to recruit to Bama?

he's already said he prefers building to sustaining. I think he would consider it, if they offered.
Better challenge. even in the easier conference. The bammers are just mad they might lose him

I really think Bama would match any offer TX threw at him. They want to win and keep him more than anything and I think their eyes have been opened to what he can do. 3 nattys in 4 years would be remarkable and he would have the chance to be the winning coach of all time with championships. His legacy in AL football history would surpass the Bear

Based on who starts the majority of Saban threads... I'm guessing it isn't "bammers" who are "just mad."

Honest question - if Bama loses to Georgia this weekend and drops down to a non BCS bowl, does that change your perception of Saban leaving? Just curious.
Posted on 11/28/12 at 10:35 am to lsurebel4
If Saban is bored in the SEC, the Big 12 isn't going to be stimulating.

IF HE DOES
and thats a huge if
He may be the only one for many many years to win 3 MNCs at 3 different schools and would without a doubt make him the GOAT.
Not to mention making him the highest paid, perhaps for all time
