Well, one thing is for certain....Miles does everything at his own pace and in his own style. Good or Bad

Well, we could have had Shoop but Les didn't pull the trigger because he wanted to take more time.

I'll let you decide if that was a good or bad move.

Was Shoop the absolutely best possible person in all of America for the job?

When do we get to decide?

I would have been happy with Shoop.

Only an idiot would make a good vs bad decision without knowing who the final hire is.

My gut tells me Brick will get the promotion. I think the whole thing might be a dog a pony show just so miles can say he exhausted all options before deciding. Unless there's a sure fire proven name I think promoting brick and bringing O on is the best thing to do.

At some point, by continuing to draw it out you force a lot of potential candidates to move on. It seems like a bizarre process from the outside looking in. But who knows....

The candidate names keep getting better and better. We started with Pendergast, then Shoop and now Smart. I like where this is heading.

Timing right now is much better than two weeks ago; it will be even better after tonight and next Sunday. I think Miles can and should take his time.

Serious question, be honest, if someone had asked you to name Penn States DC before the coaching search started, could you have named Shoop? I doubt 95% of LSU fans had heard of him, now he is the second coming

Staffs are shaking up, if you are not 100% confident you got your man you have to keep looking.

Stats will not tell the story most of the time, you pair a defensive guru with a fast paced offense, and he will look less dominant. That is just todays game. So back to your point, maybe Shoop wasn't a fit? Hell, I don't know, I don't follow Penn St.

To the OP, time will tell. But I imagine it will follow along the same lines of positive Miles versus negative on Miles.

I say a lot of people need to write les an apology letter and respect his infallibility.

I think he definitely wants to take advantage of the loop whole where he gets extra contract with recruits without a coordinator.

Les Miles is probably one of the best recruiters in the country as far as head coaches go.

As for whether he has someone or not i have no idea.

playing "games" like this is very immature and not a good idea at all. miles doesn't need fan support or approval over this hire. what he needs is do his due diligence and see who is interested and hire the best candidate. no more, no less. and yes, that can take awhile. the worse thing to do is to play games and make a flippant decision.
