Why not take a risk when you're a program at that level? They're averaging 3 wins over the last decade.

Didn't UNLV lose more money than any other FBS program last year? I think I read somewhere that they ran $38M in the red.

They are all doing well, most importantly they were all aided by being college assistants before becoming college head coaches.

some of those schools do pay their footballl coaches good money. A school like Bisop Gorman a private prep school with high level athletics, in an area with some really wealthy people, might pay pretty well. However I'm sure UNLV, even at a low pay, can afford 250k at the least. There is also little pressure on him to succeed immediately.
