Good hire for them. He and Sumlin going at it for Texas recruits should be fun to watch

Fantastic hire by UT if true

Really? I mean, he's been a head coach for what, 2 or 3 years in an extremely soft conference. Decent hire but far from a slam dunk.

I'm not criticizing it at all. Just laughing at how they actually thought they could go out and get a harbaugh or tomlin

Louisville coach Charlie Strong will replace Mack Brown as the head coach at Texas, according to a high-ranking UT source.

Chip Brown ?@ChipBrownOB
The UT source said Louisville's Charlie Strong will be offered the job, and Strong has indicated he will accept.

Pat Forde ?@YahooForde 9m
Y source: As of now Charlie Strong has not accepted Texas job, has not talked to Louisville AD Tom Jurich or President James Ramsey.

Agree. Decent hire but it is going to be a big step up in competition from that conference to Texas's level.

I think that was just their big mouth boosters measuring their dicks to journalists. They knew all along that those guys weren't realistic.

I see some people, Pat Forde, criticizing the hire because he's the anti-Mack Brown... why is that a bad thing?

Yeh urban Meyer sucks too. What has he done without Alex smith, Tebow and Braxton miller. And what did Pete Carroll ever do without Matt leinhart, Reggie bush and Carson Palmer and Russell Wilson. And that bellichek phoney hasn't done shite without that tom Brady.

On the other side, Forde also said that Louisville coach Charlie Strong, long considered a top candidate for the job, wouldn't fit in with the Longhorns at all.

"Strong would, in fact, be the absolute worst fit for the job anyway," Forde wrote. "He is the anti-Mack Brown, completely averse to extensive interaction with media and boosters. Strong is from the Greta Garbo school – he wants to be left alone. That wouldn't fly at Longhorn Network University. If he's hired, you're free to wonder whether the people involved with the search asked the right questions and got the right answers."

While an aversion to the media might be a problem the anti-Mack is what they need right now. That article made no sense to me
