...got here. The program is like a ship without a rudder. Mack is not the man for that job and they can't seem to get it. They will struggle even after he is gone. It may be ten years before Texas is in the mix because even after Mack is gone they have big problems.

I remember when we use to say we are Alabama and we can get anybody and then we get a Dubose and a Price and a Fanchione and a Shula. It was a rough 18 years of being a BAMA fan.

frick Texas!

Agreed.

We had a booster problem back on the 90's.

Ut boosters are running the show there. I can't see anyone wanting to get involved with that.

This fiasco can't be good for their recruiting this year.

Maybe it will take an NCAA raping like we had under Dubose for Texas to get their house in order.

It was the best thing to happen to Bama.

The only difference is that we had Dr. Witt and Mal quietly working to totally revamp Alabama. They had a vision, set goals, and raised the money to do it.

The bare bones structure for change was there before CNS left Miami. CNS received all the support he needed to be successful. I told a TX fan to go read Saban's book. If the boosters had fully understood him, this clown show would never have happened.

Joe J. and Big Red figured out their access would be limited, seriously.

We were definitely a mess, but I think it's more like Tennessee.

You've got a NC-winning HC that seems content to coast on their accomplishments while the competition around them is still busting arse. Tennessee forced out the fat frick and made 'the home run hire' with Kiffin. And then descended into mediocrity.

Once the reality of another shitty season of unexplainable losses to people like BYU settles in, the UT fans are going to be pissed.

Mack's real motivation for hanging on is personal. He wants to top the DKR win total. He needs nine wins. Probably two seasons the way things are going now.

There are a lot of similarities.

My guess is that two weeks ago saban was seriously considering TX. The TX shitshow helped push him back. Don't think other coaches don't see this, too.

Did your program have married assistant coaches fricking chubby trainers while at bowl meetings?

Nasty old men sexual harassing ladies and end up costing your school $400k in hush money?

Your national championship winning track coach banging her athletes?

Same track coach now suing you for $1 million because of sexual and racial discrimination?

Your senile old athletic director completely bumble during conference realignment?

Same athletic director basically completely turn any non-texas fans in the state against you with that 'We are the jones' bullshite and stick his foot in his mouth with 'our worst years are better that Missouris best years'?

Is your largest donor (has statue in the stadium right next to Royal's statue and the field is named after him) also your coach's personal lawyer and threatening to withhold money if you fire him?

Nah. I promise you while from the outside it looks like yall were about the same, their athletic department is in shambles. Its run by clowns who can't apparently keep their mouths shut and just let things play out. They have systemic problems that they need to completely clean house to fix.

Those dark times were good for Bama Nation, and a little humble pie never killed anyone. Overall I think Bama fans handled winning 3 of 4 as well as one could expect. Would guess many other fanbases would've been more unbearable. It helps Bama when the old timers know they can die happy after witnessing a great run again. Experiencing it once in a lifetime is amazing, but twice is priceless. Plus they know Bama's next generation of younger fans are good to go for another 15-20 years. That means a bunch to a father knowing his son lived it too. Ultimate peace in the sports word this feeling is...

I posted this on another board I go to. It's EXACTLY like Bama was after Stallings left. BTW, he left because he didn't have full control after he had EARNED it.

Texas people don't realize that they are their own problem and it's not all about UT's unlimited resources. They can't get out of their own way and until the McCombs and the Jamails of their world get on the same page, shut up, just write the checks, and stay the frick out of the way and let football people run the football program unfortunately nothing is going to change. How Bama fans all to well know their pain.
