Why do people believe everything they read? He left on his own terms. He pretty much didn't coach in that game against West Virginia because he knew he was leaving. Chavis did the same thing in the bowl game against Notre Dame. He left because of philosophical differences with the head coach. Here is your reason for the decline in defense and why he left. Will be the same experience Chavis will experience at Texas A&M.

The defense gave up 282 yards for the game. The offense turned the ball over 4 times is why Bama lost that game. I think Steele is a very good hire and will do a great job with the athletes he'll have to work with.

Who gives a shite about semantics?

LSU hired a LB coach when there were some good options out there for actual DC's. As someone else mentioned, you guys are polishing a turd. Why would you think a LB coach is better than a DC?

The only silver lining here is he's been under Saban awhile. We don't know what he's learned or hasn't learned since then.

I expect a total shite show. If it's not, Miles will look like Footballdamus. Not much we can do about it now.

The die is cast.

Geaux Tigers.

that's fired dude.

You can "leave on your own terms" if you're doing well, but it won't be for a demotion elsewhere. If you're sucking (and he was sucking bad) there's a million euphemisms for fired.

. If you are going to base his career on one game then you must not remember Saban losing to UAB. Or better yet him losing to UL Monroe

Except Saban has some impressive accomplishments that outweigh those two games. Does Steele?

There are 2 silver linings here... 1 Miles made a quality hire and we have a good defense, or 2 Steele sucks and Miles and Steele are both gone next year.....

Yea let's see how this board feels with the hire of Steele along with the addition of Coach O. I bet the tune of this board changes dramatically and agrees with the hire like I do.

You are definitely right. Nothing last forever and we have had it great since 2000. I think we are overdue for a stretch of bad years. But hopefully a total change in the coaching staff will come out of it.

Lets just chill on the panic button---as we all know, it ain't the x's and o's, its the Jimmy's in Joe's. As long as we continue to recruit as well as we have, (well, except at QB), this is not the end of anything. Maybe now with coach O, he can convince folks on the d-line to stick around for an extra year or so.

Let's see, he left before his contract was up, but was paid his contract amount...he was fired.
